Info for Parents The Boys' Brigade is a Christian Uniformed organisation for Boys and Young Men aged between 5 and 18 years. The uniform consists of a BB Sweatshirt or Polo Shirt, and dark trousers/shorts and dark shoes, dependent on the section. The Company supplies the shirt on a small deposit, returnable when the shirt is returned. All Boys are encouraged to attend Carey or their own Church, and we are always delighted to see Parents with their sons. We hold a monthly Parade Service at Carey on the first Sunday of every month at 10:30 am.
Subscriptions: All Boys in all 3 Sections will pay by the school half term. Currently this is £6 per half term paid on the first meeting of the half term. There may be other costs for trips etc in addition to the subs. One of the main expenses of the Company is our annual registration to BB HQ for insurance, etc. Child Protection: All leaders within the Company are registered under the Government's Criminal Records Bureau procedures, as required by BB HQ. All leaders are registered as Boys' Brigade leaders with BB HQ which have to be regularly renewed with the CRB checks. This Company operates within the Baptist Union's "Safe to Grow" child protection system, and Carey has a Children's Advocate for all children or parents to contact confidentially if they don't feel they want to approach a member of Company Staff or the Minister. Currently the Advocate is Jacky Bacon, the Minister is Revd Peter Strong, details of both are on the Carey website.
