3rd Kettering Company now run the Car Boot Sales. Dates for 2006 are as follows.....
13th May (in aid of 3rd Kettering BB)
June 10th (In aid of Bansang Hospital, in The Gambia) This is THE BIG ONE every year!
July 22nd (in aid of 3rd Kettering BB)
August 26th
(In aid of Crazy Hats campaign for Cancer)
Sept 16th (in aid of 3rd Kettering BB)
October 14th (in aid of 3rd Kettering BB)
Still held at Meadow Rd Playing Field, Kettering (opposite B&Q)
What's a car boot sale? (For our international readers "automobile trunk sale!")
Well, you don't sell the rear end of your car! Come along with your car boot full of stuff you haven't got room for. Pay the Company Captain £5 (£7 for a van) to set up your pitch (He likes that!), then sell your stuff. Finally scuttle off home with your takings (it's all yours- if you can escape without the Captain wanting more).
The End of an Era!
The Car Boot Sale that took place on 25th September was the last sale to be run by the 1st Kettering Company. We are handing over to our good friends at the 3rd Kettering Company from 2005, and they will take over our dates. Val Gilbert will be running the sales, and as soon as Val tells me the dates for 2005 I will publish them here with contact details.
