1st Kettering Company, The Boys' Brigade

(Part of the youth work of Carey Memorial Baptist Church, Kettering)

The 1st Kettering Company, The Boys' Brigade is a small Company, part of Carey Memorial Baptist Church in Kettering. The Company currently has an Anchor Boy section, led by Sharon Roberts, a Junior Section led by Sheila Farrow. The Company Section currently (Sept 06) has 7 Boys, and they do search classes as robotics and car maintenance. The Company is led by our Captain, Keith Mitchell, following on in the fine tradition of 1st Kettering Captains. Our founding Captain was Lewin Fisher, he was followed by Reg Bridges, who is still our Company President. After him, came Ron Julian, who is now in New Zealand, then Derek Neal, now Church Secretary, Dave Fletton and "Charles" Chambers.

We are part of the  Northamptonshire Battalion of The Boys' Brigade, the Battalion was formed by the merger of the old East Northants (itself formed by the merger of North Northants and Nene Valley Battalions), Northampton and South Northants Battalions..

The 1st Kettering Company may be struggling in numbers at the moment, but we have had times like this before in the past, and hopefully, we can maintain the Company to keep Advancing Christ's Kingdom among Boys"
