Dateline 10th October 2006 Last Friday night saw our Open Evening and Awards Presentation. Ian Simpson, our Battalion Development Officer went to Park Infants School a couple of weeks ago to talk to the pupils about joining the Anchor Boys. We had quite a few Boys turn up on Friday to take a look at us, so we hope that we will get a few members coming in. Also, on the same night, we had our presentations for the last session. Awards were presented by our President and Vice President, Derek Neal and Charles Chambers, to Boys in all 3 sections. Also, there was one promotion from Anchor Boys to Junior Section. Well Done Lads!!
Dateline 17th September 2006 Welcome to the "New Look" 1st Kettering homepage. To mark the enrolment service today, we are launching the new site. The idea is to produce a site with all the information to encourage new members, a marketing tool, but also to help keep old members in touch with us. Designed using Front Page 2002, the site is totally laid out in tables, without any fancy graphics or Active-X controls, specially to allow maximum accessibility for visitors using screen readers. News will be updated as necessary, rather than the monthly updates of the previous version. Sat 16th Sept 06 - Retirement of Charles & Molly Chambers from active BB duty. Carey held a party to mark the event, attended by many ex Officers, BB friends and folks from the Church. Hosted by Captain Elect, Keith Mitchell, there were greetings from the 1st Kettering, our Camping friends and the wider BB field.
We would all like to wish Molly and Charles well in their retirement from BB duty. They have influenced many Boys and Young Men as they have grown up in the 1st Kettering Company. Thank You! I would like to add my own personal good wishes to them. They have both been there throughout my BB career, starting in the mid 60s. I am sure that there are many people out there who have been influenced by Molly and Charles. Webmaster. The news from the summer August - Congratulations to Anchor Boys OIC Sharon Roberts and her husband Lee, on the birth of daughter Amy Louise, a sister for Steven, Adam and Ben.
